Cane blowers, gilders, decorators, bombers and polishers: since December 2023, the precise gestures of these art craftsmen have been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The origins of this know-how date back to 1500 B.C., and today it is used in some twenty art crafts: decoration (lighting, stained glass, etc.), jewelry and tableware.
Every day, 8,000 men and women (40 of whom have obtained the prestigious title of Meilleur ouvrier de France) carry out rare and complex techniques: molding, blowing, firing, palletizing, pressing, polishing, meshwork... These trades are practiced for prestigious companies such as Lalique or Baccarat, which we invite you to discover in this video.
A beautiful immersion in one of the jewels of the French cultural heritage.
