Joan of Arc, William the Conqueror, the Vikings... for the past 10 years, the highest cathedral in France has been revisiting its history through a sound and light show that will appeal to both children and adults. The historical monument which inspired many paintings to Claude Monet also pays tribute to the master of the impressionist movement by using its facade as a gigantic canvas playing, like him, on light and colors and it is very likely that this pioneer of the arts would have appreciated the new show planned this year.
For the first time, the inhabitants of Rouan and visitors will be able to participate in the projection by "placing" a virtual candle on the cathedral or, after having been scanned, their avatar. Like so many small impressionist touches, the actions of the public will form a beautiful human and collective work as was, centuries ago, the construction of these majestic religious buildings.
