The fruit road : gourmet crossing of Normandy

It is in the heart of the regional natural park of the loops of the Seine that the famous fruit road stretches over 62 km. Bordered by a bicycle path, it is by bike that I suggest you accompany me to discover the regional flavours!

Gourmet escape...

From La Bouille to Jumièges, passing from one bank of the Seine to another on a charming little ferryboat, this visit combines gourmet delights and typical landscapes of the Norman Seine valley with its agriculture as far as the eye can see, its mills and farms of local producers.
Protected from the wind by the white cliffs, the ecosystem is flourishing and orchards thrive.

Every season of the year, arborists sell their tasting harvests. In spring, it is red fruits that are on the menu, strawberries, raspberries, enough to fill the stalls of the regional markets... In summer comes the turn of cherries and plums to finally be replaced, in autumn, to the different star varieties of Norman gastronomic heritage: apples, pears and nuts!

... and some countryside !

Fresh or prepared, the fruit is always highlighted in the respect of the local tradition. The producers, ambassadors of the region's ancestral know-how, sell (on their production sites, local markets or "at their gate" on the fruit route) their local products such as artisanally distilled cider, homemade fruit jam, foie gras, confits, cheeses, and other fresh products with local flavours. Artisanal and aromatic tastes that will delight your taste buds ... We see you the greedy ones ...

In addition to offering a tour through this green countryside, the fruit road also reveals the authentic architectural landscape of Normandy, including the picturesque cottages on the banks of the Seine. If you want to stop-off somewhere, and why not enjoy an appetizer, a picnic or a local recipe, stop at Jumièges and discover its beautiful abbey!
