XXL Panorama: a unique immersive exhibition!

XXL Panorama is a form of immersion in the heart of significant historical periods (such as ancient Rome or the Middle Ages during the time of Joan of Arc) or in majestic landscapes (such as the Amazonian rainforest or the Great Barrier Reef). Since June 1st 2019, Panorama XXL of Rouen has been presenting an exhibition in the depths of the ocean to discover the wreckage of the Titanic.

A modern and magical artistic performance

The exhibitions presented by XXL Panorama are a mixture of various arts such as painting, drawing and photography but it is also the result of meticulous scientific and digital work gathered on a giant circular canvas of 3200 m² for a highly realistic immersion !

For even more plausibility, a staging including light effects and soundtrack offers another perception on the images exposed in these gigantic panoramas.

For example, the exhibition on the Amazonian forest followed the one-day cycle to enjoy the fauna and flora both during the day and the night!

Titanic

Since June 1st 2019, XXL Panorama has been offering spectators the opportunity to descend to a depth of 3800 metres to relive the wreckage of the "unsinkable" Titanic.
You can have fun identifying some of the everyday objects that, over the centuries, have scattered in the meanders of the ocean.

The exhibition also raises a deeper question about the relationship between man and nature. "The thousand tons of steel are corroding, the once sumptuous furnishings and the exceptional technology of the titanic liner are now nothing more than a field of ruins that nature is gradually reclaiming. "

For more information, this playful video, produced as a "draw my life", retraces the history of XXL Panorama and discusses the technique necessary to carry out such a large-scale project
