A medieval city with well-preserved remains
This simple guided tour will take you from the heart of the upper town to the discovery of Montreuil-Bellay, an ancient medieval walled city whose remains are exceptionally well preserved! We will discover the market place, the oldest house of the city, the astonishing store of the apothecary, the ruins of the very first church of the 11th century, the banks of the river Thouet and its watchtower, and other remarkable houses.
We will pass through the old gates of the walled city and of course, we will talk about the history of the castle and its collegiate church.
