A time trip to Montmartre
Come and discover with me this delightful village, very popular with artists and those who crave authenticity, but also by the curious. We will begin our visit with the history of the Basilique du Sacré Coeur the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, overlooking the Butte de Montmartre and its beautiful white colour that surprises us every time. I will explain why this neighborhood bears the beautiful name of Montmartre and we will revive the special atmosphere of this place, so adored by the artists of the 19th century and also the personalities at the time.
We will stroll through the streets, which, according to their names, will plunge us back into the old Paris. Be seduced by the Maison Rose the Pink House and be captivated by its peculiar history and its different occupants.
We will continue on to place Dalida and I will show you her house, where she lived for 25 years. We will cross an alley unlike others and rediscover a French author, to whom Jean Marais wished to pay homage thanks to his talent of sculptor.
I will guide you to an avenue very popular artists, where you can admire beautiful colourful mosaics.
Then we'll see the Lapin Agile, this tiny house with its shimmering colours is the oldest cabaret in the neighborhood, and won't leave you indifferent! Finally, we will see the last existing period windmill, and be charmed by the magnificent panorama over the vines. We will go back in time thanks to various artists, cross the numerous squares, while stopping here and there to contemplate the panoramas... You will then understand why this led Jean-Pierre Jeunet to turn the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain here...
