Taxi Seine Paris

Would you like to admire some of the capital's heritage gems in a different, more relaxed way? Forget the metro and hop aboard a water cab that will take you from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower in just 20 minutes. More than just a mode of transport, a real experience to discover.

Under the bridges of Paris flows the Seine...

The fact that the Latin phrase Fluctuat nec mergitur ("it is beaten by the waves but does not sink") is the motto of Paris is a clear indication of the importance of the Seine in its history. The river, around which such major landmarks as Notre-Dame Cathedral and the former Palais Royal du Louvre were built, remains a strong marker of the capital's identity around the world and, as evidenced by the crowds that flock to its quays as soon as the sun begins to shine, continues to inspire visitors... and the French.

Now they can enjoy the most beautiful avenue in Paris by river with Taxi Seine Paris. Launched at the beginning of June by the capital's tourist office, in conjunction with the Communauté Portuaire de Paris and France's leading port (HAROPA), the shuttle service already comprises 10 taxi-boats, each with a capacity of 6 passengers.

Lovers of soft mobility will be able to get from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower in 20 minutes, while admiring the facade of the Musée d'Orsay, the pediment of the Assemblée Nationale or the towers of Notre-Dame. And, between 2 greetings to other boats and passing under historic bridges, the Seine's inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List will seem even more obvious.

Ready to embark?

The aptly named Taxi Seine Paris operates like any other VTC fleet:

  • You create your account on the Boat.parisjetaime.com website.
  • Select the date of your trip (up to 24 hours in advance).
  • Choose the time: between 2pm and 6pm every day.
  • You'll receive confirmation of your pick-up within 5 minutes.
  • You pay directly on the site.

The current rate is €145 per trip.

This price can be divided by 6 if you are accompanied by 5 friends, colleagues or family members (i.e. less than €25 per person), bearing in mind that the number of stations served and boats made available is subject to change.

Enjoy it during the Olympics

If you're discovering this new way of getting around Paris for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the shuttle will give you easy access to 2 major event venues: the Parc Urbain la Concorde and the Tour Eiffel Stadium. Once at the bottom of the tower, you can prolong the spirit of the Games with the "Olympic Exhibition, Sports and Urban Cultures" at SPOT24, Paris' new tourist information point, which also includes a café and a pleasant shaded terrace.

Open until the end of December, the exhibition showcases 6 urban sports (skateboarding, climbing, BMX freestyle, surfing, 3X3 basketball, breaking) and their links with the contemporary art scene. Not to be missed! To find out more about SPOT24, visit the Paris Tourist Office website, and to book a 1st discovery of the capital by taxi-boat, visit the Taxi Seine Paris website.
