Immortalized in painting by Paul Signac, who lived there and painted the colors so typical of the South, then in cinema by Brigitte Bardot, who made it the capital of glamour in And God Created Woman (1956), Saint-Tropez still attracts stars (Beyoncé, Rihanna, Leonardo DiCaprio) and film crews such as those from the series The White Lotus, whose fourth season will be filmed on location, 30 years after the French series Sous le soleil, which also contributed greatly to its appeal.
But behind the glitz, there is a preserved authenticity: that of pretty squares with ochre-colored churches, stretches of fine sand, beach bars, and aperitifs on the terrace.
