The villa "Les Rhumbs", the childhood house of the future ambassador of French haute-couture Christian Dior, became in 1997 a museum totally dedicated to the great designer. Its name "les rhumbs" is an echo of the compass rose used in the navy, which makes sense in this marine environment located on the English Channel coast.
But that's not all! The whole house is designed around this theme: from the colour of the walls to the composition of the gardens where, of course, there is a rose garden!
The compass rose symbol can also be found in mosaics inside the house.
