Discover the museum dedicated to Christian Dior

The villa "Les Rhumbs", the childhood house of the future ambassador of French haute-couture Christian Dior, became in 1997 a museum totally dedicated to the great designer. Atypical architecture, flower gardens and unique exhibitions: the Christian Dior Museum promises worlds and wonders for lovers of French chic!

Its name “the rhumbs” echoes the compass rose used in the navy, which makes perfect sense in this marine environment on the Channel coast.

But that's not all! The entire site is designed around this theme: from the color of the walls to the composition of the gardens, which include, of course, a rose garden restored and enlarged in 2002: a pleasure for the eyes, especially in spring or summer!

The compass rose symbol can also be found in the mosaics inside this house, located near Mont St Michel and awarded the “Illustrious House” label by the French Ministry of Culture in 2012.

The house of my childhood... My life, my style, almost everything its is due to its location and architecture.»

Christian Dior

A complete visit

In the 1st “Musée de France” entirely dedicated to a couturier, you can discover the legacy of the creator of the famous New-look through unique collections and temporary exhibitions. In 2019, 90 outfits from the wardrobe of the Princess of Monaco were exhibited for the first time in this museum created by former collaborators and close friends of Christian Dior.

And in 2024, it was the visionary dimension of the world-famous couturier that came to the fore.

After immersing yourself in his work, and perhaps before a stroll through the cliff-top garden, a gourmet pause at the aptly named La Rose du Rocher tea room awaits gourmets for a contemplative break overlooking the Channel Islands.

And after breakfast, lunch or a snack in this green setting, they can complete their immersion in the world of the great fashion designer by visiting the boutique, where books, postcards, posters and perfumes await them.
