New tourist signage

Fifty or so francilians points of interest, accessible on foot, by bike or public transport, highlighted in the streets of Paris: this is the new signage proposed by the Capital Tourist Office and the aptly named Enlarge Your Paris medium. An inspired initiative for discovering nearby tourist nuggets.

A metropolitan and ecological approach

As the world's No. 1 tourist destination, France and its capital are suffering from the effects of over tourism. At the same time, travelers are increasingly looking to get off the beaten track and travel in a less polluting way. In conjunction with a number of local players (Metropole du Grand Paris, Val-de-Marne Tourisme & Loisirs, Seine-Saint-Denis Tourisme, Département des Hauts-de-Seine), the Paris je t'aime Tourist Office has designed a new signage system to enhance the visitor experience. Whether it's a monument to admire, a sporting activity to enjoy or a green space in which to recharge your batteries, a total of 25 masts and 70 directional signs from JCDecaux will be highlighting to Parisians, Ile-de-France residents and foreign visitors (information is also available in English) destinations such as the Parc forestier de la Poudrerie from the Parc de la Villette, the street art works of Vitry-sur-Seine to discover as you leave the Boulevard Paris 13, or the Ile Saint-Germain, ideally complementing a visit to the Notre-Dame area.

Originality and practicality

Other information available on these new directional signs: the distance by bike or the journey time by public transport to reach the various points of interest.

A nice way of promoting soft mobility and an ecological approach also illustrated by the use of existing panels. In fact, it's the unused back of some of the street furniture already in place that encourages the curious to get out of Paris intra-muros.

This unique metropolitan signage is not to be missed during your strolls around Paris, to extend your experience with family, friends or on your own. Enjoy your discovery!
