Quality sleep on vacation

Monuments to visit, museums to discover, towns to explore, restaurants to try... France is the world's No. 1 tourist destination for a reason and making the most of its wonders takes energy. To do this, it's essential to get a good night's sleep. Here are a few tips to help you stay fit and enjoy your vacation to the full.

I sleep therefore I am (well)

Descartes would surely have validated this version of his famous saying, given how essential sleep is to good mental and physical health.

Here are a few tips to help you drift off into the arms of Morpheus:

Eat light

Even if it's not always easy in the land of gastronomy (ah the dishes in sauce, the cheese and dessert combo, the good wines and digestifs...), in the evening it's preferable to eat without excess: avoid sugar and caffeine, opt for reasonable quantities and eat at least 2 hours before going to bed.

To help you fall asleep and compensate for the absence of tea or coffee in the evening, a herbal tea or hot milk can also round off your dinner.

Pamper yourself

It's easy to think of it after a hard day's work, but less so after a day of sightseeing: a good bath or long shower is also good for sleep.

In fact, contact with water relaxes the body and prepares it for its night-time temperature change (lower than during the day, so be careful not to use water that's too hot).

When you leave the bathroom, you can also extend this moment of relaxation by putting on a fluffy bathrobe and choosing a non-screen activity, such as immersing yourself in a good French novel.

It's the ideal way to prolong your trip and ensure you have a good night's sleep.

Pay attention to your surroundings

Feeling comfortable in the room where you fall asleep contributes in part to a good night's sleep:

  • Make sure you don't get too hot by acclimatizing the room to between 16 and 18° maximum.
  • Opt for a cosy atmosphere: essential oil diffuser, soft music, subdued lighting...
  • Avoid beds that are too high, slippery carpets or shutters that let in light.
  • We pay particular attention to the quality of our bedding, choosing beds with the best mattresses.

In short, we do everything we can to bathe in the most peaceful atmosphere possible, before diving back into the world of sightseeing the next day.

Sleep at home like in a hotel

Winner of over 30 awards, available in 26 countries and appreciated by over 1,500,000 sleepers, the Original mattress (produced in France) from the Emma mattress brand takes concrete action for better sleep.

For the past 10 years, experts at this German company, renowned for its innovations, have been developing a whole range of products (slat bases, pillows, bed linen, etc.) that are now often found in hotels and private rental accommodation.

A pioneer in memory foam mattresses, the bedding manufacturer combines science and technology to offer French and European sleepers’ equipment that tackles back pain in particular.

It's been a long time since I've slept like this.
My back says thank you!
