This simple visit will make you discover this curious little village built on the hillside between the Loire and the vineyard. We start from the Souzay island (accessible on foot depending on the season) for a general presentation of the history of the village, marked by the Loire and the extraction of the tufa stone.
We will then walk through the galleries of the old stone quarries, transformed into living quarters over the centuries and now restored. A change of scenery guaranteed! Let's not forget the castle of Souzay, residence for a time of Marguerite d'Anjou. And how not to make a detour to the vineyards of the famous red wine, Saumur-Champigny!
