The Vosges textile route

From the Centre to the East of the Vosges region, the textile route has recently been extended for almost 280 km. Interactive, enriching and surprising, this circuit is an innovative approach to industrial tourism.

A cotton region

Adept of local culture, industrial tourism or simply passing through the region, the textile route is the ideal way to discover the richness and quality of the Vosges know-how. Through 4 different itineraries (La Plaine, Moselotte, Moselle and Géromois), you will discover during your journey how textiles have shaped the region. As early as 1756, factories were set up on this mountainous territory, taking advantage of the hydraulic power of old water mills to spin cotton.

Today, the "Vosges terre textile" label guarantees that at least 75% of the operations involved in the design of labelled products have been carried out in the department. It is with the aim of protecting and enhancing this label, as well as this craft know-how, that the region has centred part of its tourism around the cotton industry.

A modern visit

A perfect compromise between culture and leisure, the tours are made up of about thirty "points of interest", between visits to production sites and related activities (hikes, museums...) on this textile theme. This circuit, marked out by explanatory panels placed at the entrance of companies, on shop windows or near places steeped in history, will allow you to discover all that you can see or do in the surrounding area.

Virtual tours, accessible via a QR code, are also set up for sites that cannot open their doors to visitors for security reasons. Thanks to the photos and videos on offer, the manufacture of your household linen, your shirts or your cotton socks will no longer hold any secrets for you!

To prepare your visit.
